Reconstruction & Repairs
Reconstruction After Water, Mold & Fire Damage
Cleanup is only half the job. Once the water is out, the mold is gone, or the smoke is cleaned, something has to put the walls, floors and cabinets back. Dry Effect does both halves — the same company that dried or cleaned your home rebuilds it, so you are not hunting for a contractor or explaining the claim twice. We write the repair estimate in Xactimate, the estimating software most insurance adjusters use, and work with your adjuster on the claim.
Since March 2026, Dry Effect has handled 44 rebuild jobs across Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.
Our Process
How Reconstruction & Repairs Works
A proven, step-by-step approach to getting your property back to normal.
Measure & Estimate
We measure what was removed or damaged and write a line-by-line repair estimate in Xactimate. If your insurance company already wrote one, we go through it with you and your adjuster.
Approval & Scheduling
You and your insurance company approve the scope. We order materials and schedule the work, so you know what happens each day and when your home is back.
Rebuild
Insulation, drywall, tape and texture, paint, baseboards and trim, doors and frames, flooring, carpet and pad, and cabinets — detached and reset, or replaced.
Final Walk-Through
We walk the finished work with you and fix anything that is not right before we call the job complete.
Real prices
What reconstruction really costs in Cincinnati
These are the real totals from the 38 reconstruction jobs Dry Effect billed in 2026 — not a national average.
Your price depends on what has to be put back: a few feet of drywall and baseboard, or a kitchen with new cabinets and flooring. You get a line-by-line estimate before work starts, and when the damage is covered we work with your adjuster.

FAQ
Common Reconstruction & Repairs Questions
Across the 38 reconstruction jobs Dry Effect billed in 2026, half cost between $2,700 and $10,250, and the middle job was $5,550. Nine in ten were under $20,750. Your price depends on what has to be put back: a few feet of drywall and baseboard, or a kitchen with new cabinets and flooring. You get a line-by-line estimate before work starts, and when the damage is covered we work with your adjuster.
Yes. Most of our rebuilds follow our own water, mold or fire work, but we also put homes back after another company did the mitigation. We measure what was removed and write the repair estimate from there.
When the damage is covered, the repairs to put your home back usually are too. We write the estimate in the format adjusters use and work with your insurance company on it. You are responsible for your deductible and anything you choose to upgrade.
Yes — it gets its own estimate and its own approval, because insurance companies handle cleanup and repairs as separate parts of the claim. It is still the same company and the same contact person from start to finish.
It depends on the size of the job and material lead times. Replacing a few feet of drywall and baseboard can take a couple of days; a kitchen with new cabinets and flooring takes longer. We give you a schedule once the scope is approved.
